Can’t create a link from Dropbox file to share.

For some reason now, I’m getting an error message trying to share a file or folder from my Dropbox. I have the Basic account and therefore no support from Dropbox. I have tons of files I need to have access to share or to be able to recover them and move to a friendlier service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your sharing activity might have been paused, but can you clarify if you're getting a particular error message when trying to share your files or folders so that we can make sure we're on the same page?

Something went wrong and we weren’t able to create a shared link. This is from a folder that I’ve shared before in the past.
