I bought new Samsung s7 edge in June 2016. I got one mail regarding for claiming 48gb free space, but I have not noticed it at that time. So, can i claim the same offer now? how?
No, you cannot. The promotion ended one year ago.
Hi, I am trying to get my information clear. I have an account and I am receiving alerts as to my dropbox space will be reduced in 3 weeks.Actually 54,38 Go with 43 Go of used space.
If I don't want to buy a dropbox pro account :
- Will I lose all my data ?
- What will I be reduced to ?
- Should I download my data (this will take tremendous time doing it and findig space to store)
Thanks for your help and knowledge
Luca
Will I lose all my data ?
No. Dropbox will not delete your files, even if you're over quota. If you do go over quota, syncing will stop, but your files are still accessible.
What will I be reduced to ?
The message you received should tell you that. If this is a reduction due to an expiring Samsung promotion, you'll likely have 48GB of space removed from your account, and then 3GB added back to it as a Thank You.
@Dennis: Dropbox does not remove the space earned through referrals (inviting friends). If space is being removed, then it's from a time-limited promotion that you were a part of (Samsung bonus, Space Race, etc.).
@Marco: Contact the team admin for the business account. Ask them to contact Dropbox Support and ask to have your previous account restored. Only the team admin will be able to make the request because, technically, your account belonged to the business once you merged it.
@Maxim, Maja: Go into the View all space earned section and look for the bonus that was applied to your account. You should see the date it happened. The Samsung bonus is a two year promotion, so you should be able to figure out the remaining time from that. Also, as you start to get close to the expiration, Dropbox will notify you.
Hi i am getting the Samsung galaxy S7 edge is that eligible for the free dropbox space 48GB?
Hello,
unfortunately I logged in the first time on my girlfriends samsung and got the 48 GB Extra. Any chance to move them to her Dropbox Account because it's her smartphone?
Thanks.
No, unfortunately. The first account to log in gets the bonus space and it cannot be transferred to another account.
Hey Guys!
I just bought a brand new Samsung Note 5 a day back and signed with this account into it. I didnt received the 48 GB ?? what should i do more to get my free space.
Thanks!
Umar
Have you followed the advice already given?
If so what have you done?
Some months ago I was able to see the expiration time of my free space promotion, but just now has disapear. In my count I can see the space available an the date of installation but I can not see the expiration date. I should imagine that there is no expiration time?
Thanks
Expiration is usually 2 years from activation.
I bought a new T-Mobile Samsung Note 3. When I started it, it said get 50GB Free.
I created an account (It's a new personal account), went through all the steps. It says that I have to complete 5 out of 7 steps to get the 50 GB space. I completed all the seven step. But still show the invite more friends as not completed and I have 2.2GB Space. I invited a friend and it gave me 250 MB.
I read the questions posted here and it seems that everybody has the same issue. I'm new to DropBox and still get the same as the others.
I think it's a trick from DropBox to get more people to join, and give a silly excuses.
I've been using google drive for almost 10 years, they gave me 15GB free since I created my account with a similar promotion. But they have no tricks like this one.
I reset my phone to factory default and started the process from scratch, thinking that I might have done something wrong through my first try. So I created a new account using my other email account, and still got the same result.
I have wasted my day trying to figure this issue out but no success.
There are no tricks. If you haven't been awarded the space then you've either missed a step, do not qualify or the device isn't eligible.
Could you please then tell me what is the thing that did not qualify me.
My T-Mobile Samsung Note 3 is eligible, I did all seven steps while it's saying I need to do 5 out of the 7. My account is a first time use, I just created the account.
What else do I need to do to qualify????
Hola a todos,
Me gustaria saber que pasa si se termina la promoción de Samsung de 48Gb, quiero saber que pasa con mis contenidos si exceden la capacidad de mi dropbox, despues de quedar sin los gigas de la promoción?
I am using samsung galaxy s5. When I buy this mobile which has an offer for dropbox cloud storage for 20GB. Dropbox is an inbuilt app with my mobile, but I could not get the remaining 20 GB except my own 2GB space. Could you please tell me why?
I bough new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, unfortunately due to bad synchronization with my old phone i had to do factory reset of Galaxy S7 edge. From that moment I do not have Drop box pre-installed anymore. I installed Drop box and Signed In and did 5 steps, but I have not received bonus of 48 GB space. Is it still somehow possible to claim the bonus of 48 GB for new device?
Hi, I bought the Samsung S7 Edge and the dropbox was not pre installed on my phone. I installed the app, followed all the steps and yet i have only 2 GB storage. How is this possible?
The promotion is valid only for devices that have the app pre-installed.

Which Samsung devices are eligible for promotions?
I'm now only using 14 GB. My promotion is over in 3 days. The upgrade is 1 Terrabyte for 99.00 per year. That is too much space, and too much money. Why not offer a smaller package. This is frustrating. Thanks, Chris
Why not offer a smaller package
Lots and lots and LOTS of threads on this. Have a search.
Long story short. They lose money. They've tested them more than once. Including again just this year. They lost money.
Thanks for replying, it is appreciated. I believe that it would be better to gain 50.00 many times than lose 50.00 many times. Also, percentage wise, 1 Terrabyte is too much for a home user. I've used it for almost 3 years , with 3 grandkids and have only used 14 GB. DROPBOX PLEASE HELP !!!!
Hi.
I bought a new Samsung mobile device and logged in with the wrong dropbox user. Is there any chance I recover the space and get the promotion for the other account, the one that I had to link the device with?
Hey,
If my account was previously redeemed by Samsung promoted 48G, and after several years I bought a new Samsung, can I redeem a NEW Samsung promotion for the same account again?
Thanks in advise !!!
No, you can't. You can only claim the promotion once, even if you purchase a new device.
Also, the Samsung promotion is ending on April 30th.
No. The first account that logs into the device gets the bonus space. There's no way to transfer that to another account.
I have just installed Dropbox on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 purchased yesterday. I have never before owned a Samsung device which means I have never received a 48GB bonus. In these less than 24 hours of owning this device no one else has logged into the Dropbox application through it other than me. I have also completed all the other steps required to get the bonus. And I already had Dropbox installed on my computer prior as well because I use it daily. I know that this is the last day possible to be able to receive this kind of a bonus since the Samsung promotion expires today on April 30th 2016. But I still don't see what seems to be the problem? If today is the last day, why can't I receive the bonus? I have met all the requirements according to everything I have read on the Dropbox pages, etc...
EDIT: Apparently I have missed the part where it says Dropbox has to be preinstalled on the device...I honestly don't understand why it wasn't included in the new Samsung Galaxy S7. Really unfair is all I have to say...
I have just installed Dropbox on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 purchased yesterday
That in itself means your device does not qualify I'm afraid - as per the help links within this thread. Devices ONLY QUALIFY if the Dropbox app is pre-installed as a factory installation. It does not qualify if you install it yourself.
