A folder I joined sometime back does not offer the option for me to remove myself. Unfortunately it causing my account to be over capacity.

Go to your Sharing page and click the ellipsis next to the folder in question. Do you see an option that says Remove from Dropbox?
What is it saying @Joe M.10 when you try and remove it?
It does not say anything as the drop down is not available in the permissions box.
Is it a Team folder by any chance? If so the Team owner needs to remove you
No on team. Just invited from individual.
Hi @Joe M.10, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
What options do you see when you click on the ellipsis by the folder itself and then the Share > Share folder option?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!
Sorry but a screenshot would be a privacy issue. it shows the owner, and several others as "can edit"and the same for mine. No drop down options are available for my email.
I was invited via another email address I own that does not match my DB login. wonder if this could be the issue?
Could you clarify how you were able to join this folder while not being invited via that specific email?
Did you click the link in the email while logged into that account? Did you need to request access to the folders?
i clicked "add to Dropbox". I was already logged in.
As you mentioned you had two different emails, which account were you signed into when you clicked 'Add to join'? Was it your personal account, or the account they emailed you on?
The other email is not associated with any Dropbox account. In fact, this might point to a security flaw.
Hey @Joe M.10, you can't join a shared folder if you're not logged in to Dropbox and you can only login to Dropbox if there's already an account associated with the email you used.
So, it does sound like you have two Dropbox accounts.
A screenshot of what you see, would be really helpful.
You can edit out the names and emails from the screenshot before uploading it.
Yes, of course, you must be logged in to join a folder. I was indeed logged in. No I do not have two Dropbox accounts. It is only my guess that I was invited from a different email that had me thinking this might be the reason I cannot leave. It shows my Dropbox user ID in the permissions box, but only with "can edit" as the only option and no twirl out arrow. Unfortunately, a screenshot is too risky as this involves a legal case.
I do not see an option to insert an image, so here's a link.

I appreciate the update here, @Joe M.10.
What does the owner of the folder see when following the same steps?
Can you check with them?
