All photos have disappeared from a folder. It said something about it being modified in 2015, but I wouldn’t have done anything to put them somewhere else. It’s the only folder that’s missing all photos. What’s happened?

If there isn't any event history, and the files were moved or deleted in 2015, then it wouldn't be possible to recover them now, even from our end, unfortunately.

I think what @vibraphonusrex is saying is that they haven't touched the folder. For some reason it is saying it was modified in 2015, but only recently did the photos disappear. It's an issue with the system, not that they deleted it in 2015 and are only trying to recover it now.
