files with 0 bytes..can I recover them?

So, my computer is lost, and I was counting on dropbox, except I now notice that I was warned that I was over the limit and it stopped syncing in October. Does anyone know whether, if I were to pay for more space, I would then be able to see more recent files? And I can see the files names of two things I was working on, but they are zero bytes, which I don't understand. Any help is appreciated, as otherwise I am deeply depressed over loosing so much work that I thought was being backed up.

Hi @lkearns, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If your account was overquota, this means that any new files in the Dropbox folder since it was overquota wouldn't have synced to the site.

Therefore, there'd be no data to recover, unfortunately. Upgrading to a paid plan wouldn't make any difference, since the recovery period isn't retroactive.
