I don't know whether I'm posting this in the right place, but in my Dropbox Backup I have Desktop and Desktop(1). Is there a reason for that? If not, can I delete Desktop(1) and, if so, how? TIA...
That's correct, to store all your files you had before, it would need more than 2 GB of quota.
From what you posted, you currently have 2 TB, since you're most likely on a Plus plan, so you should have enough quota currently to store them.
Hey @Judy12159, let's jump right into this!
Do you check online on your Backup page, when you see this? If you check locally inside your Dropbox folder do you see the same thing?
If so, are both of these folders identical when it comes to the content in them?
Keep me posted!
Now I'm having a problem finding them. 🙃 Could you remind me how to get to my Backup page?
Hi there and sorry to jump in here, but I wanted to mention that you can simply click on this link or navigate to your backups page manually from the dotted icon on your upper left corner @Judy12159
I hope this helps!
Thanks for the https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all suggestion!
Judy
No biggie @Judy12159

So now I've discovered that not all my Document folders and files are being backed up on my new computer. Oops! They've ended up in my OneDrive folder and not in my local folder at all! Is this something you can help with? I have OneDrive unlinked, but clearly that's not helping!
Hey @Judy12159!
Since we cannot back up your OneDrive folder, if you want to back your Documents folder up with Dropbox, you can follow the steps in this article.
Also, I would like to know how much space I have on Dropbox -- not the backup but any files I might have manually backed up to Dropbox. For example, I back up my Quicken files to a folder on Dropbox separately from the Dropbox Backup/sync. If I were to stop using Dropbox Backup, can be sure that the files I've backed up manually will still be in Dropbox and within the 2 Gb limit?Hope that's understandable!
Sure thing, Judy!
You can see how much space you have available and how much you're already using, in the plan tab of your account settings here.
Cheers!
Hi @Judy12159, your regular files are files that you uploaded to your account and that aren't shared with anyone.
Shared content, is pretty self-explanatory, it's the content you share with others, (or that they shared with you) in order to collaborate with them.
Okay. Now, how do I don't want to use the Backup feature anymore. How do I disable it?
Hi @Judy12159, you can delete the Dropbox Backup by following these steps.
Just to be sure, does "unlinked" mean that the backup is not happening anymore?
That's right, it means that the backup won't occur again.
So with those numbers, I need a lot more than 2 Gb!Just wanted to be sure. Thanks!
Thanks!
