Is there anyway to recover an account that has been deleted?
There's likely no way to recover the files. You deleted the account, so all files and history in that account were likely deleted as well. All you can really do is open a ticket and ask Support.

If you deleted the account or it if was deleted due to inactivity, no, it cannot be recovered. If the account was part of a Business team and deleted within the last 7 days, the team admin might be able to restore it.
The Dropbox support team managed to find a solution and sorted the issue!
I'm happy that I got my files back! Thank you everyone!

As has been stated numerous times in this thread, you cannot reactivate an account that has been deleted. If it was recently deleted then Dropbox Support may be able to help you recover the content, but the account is likely gone. The only way to know what can be done is to contact Support.

Hey @yadigar0412,
Thanks for getting in touch on the Dropbox Community!
As @Rich mentioned, because your password has expired, you'll need to open a ticket, so that our colleagues have a look at your account and help you with the reactivation.
@Jane - it doesnt mention expired password, it says inactive account (i.e. its been removed as not used for over a year).
@JaneA- my account has been deactiavted but there was no reason too i thought i was logging in every day to it since i can not reactivate it i would atleast like to recover files from it.

No need to respond to this post. It is over 2 years old and was resolved years ago.

I deleted my dropbox account by mistake and would really like to recover it. I had an account under [removed per the Community's Guidelines]
Hi @james74, thanks for posting on the Community!
If a Dropbox account is deleted by a user, then it wouldn't be possible to recover the account or the files within, unfortunately.
Was the account part of a Dropbox Business team by any chance, or was a personal account?
This will help me to assist further!
Hello,
I deleted by mistake my personal drobox account, Can i recocer it?
Hi @gpantelios7, sorry to hear about that!
If you deleted your Dropbox account, you can re-create it using the email address you used before, however you wouldn't be able to recover the files that the old account had before.
I hope this clarifies!
Hello Megan,
How can I recover my files from the deleted account?
Hi @gpantelios7, I'm afraid this wouldn't be possible.
I had a personal account, then i joined a business team. Now that I left my work and was excluded from the team, I lost my personal folder which I had in my original personal account. I can't even log in on my dropbox account. My email disappeared, all my folders disappeared.

When joining the Business team you merged your account into their team account, effectively making them the owner of your account. In order to leave the team and keep your account active, the team admin needs to convert your account back to an individual account. If they removed you from the team instead, your account was deleted. You need to contact the team admin and ask them to restore your account and then convert it. Act quickly because they only have seven days from the deletion to restore it. Only the team admin can do this for you; Dropbox cannot.
I deleted my dropbox account not realizing that my filmmaker pro was on dropbox - how can I recover it?
Hey @ltpe, thanks for reaching out to us.
I moved your post to this thread with info relevant to your query.
If you still have any questions, please let us know.
The account was the bussines one under the Name removed
It wont be possible to do that @Sandile_ndawonde - once an account is deleted its permanently deleted immediateley. Business accounts that still have an account running (i.e. the owner cancels somebody within the business but still pays the licence fee) can recover for 7 days, but, after that its not possible.
Also, once an account is inactive for over 12 months it would be deleted anyway.
So, even if they didnt delete and just left it without paying the files would now be totally removed.
Hello! Today I was trying to login to my Dropbox account, and apparently I had to sign up so I guess it got deleted. I had 50gb of data on it. Is it possible to recover it? I had important stuff back there . Thank you
Hey @codreanuflavius, thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear about this.
Was the account deleted due to inactivity? And was it an individual one or part of a Dropbox Business team?
Hey! Thank you for answering. The account was deleted due to inactivity.
Hi @codreanuflavius, thanks for clarifying!
In this case, then there's not much that we can do.
Once an account is deleted due to inactivity, the content isn't recoverable.
Hello Dropbox Community!
This is my first time using the forum. Nice to meet y'all!
I decided to make this post thinking that maybe someone has ever had or heard about an issue like that. 2 Days ago, I was using the trial plan for business plan, and I decided to cancel the free trial plan and switch to the "plus" plan, but somehow, the dropbox team decided that it will a good idea to terminate your account if you cancel that plan, and I have no idea why someone would ever add such a thing on the billing page. I terminated my account, and I lost access to my files because I was looking for a downgrade. For 2 days, I've been trying to connect with the Dropbox team to figure and sort this out, but nothing happened so far. My files contain years of work and legal paperwork, and they seem to not care about that.
Does anyone have any idea if I will ever recover my files? I don't really care about the account, but the files are so important to me.
