Portrait photos have today started uploading sideways. Has never done this before and was not like this yesterday. Today photos are sideways. Are these still a back up of original photo?
Was wondering if someone can help. We have only just noticed only from a day or so ago that all our photos which have been taken as a portrait photo are showing up in Dropbox in landscape on there side. We date stamp our photos, so its clear the photos are taken like this. Can anyone help how to stop this from happening?
I just checked and now all of my 2020 photos have sifted sideways! These are ones that weren't previously. When is Dropbox going to fix this issue?

Hey @Terchan80, thanks for nudging me on this thread and sorry to hear that you're also having trouble with this.
I just followed up with a ticket, so when you get the chance, check your inbox and don't hesitate to get back to me there.
Thanks!
So... when will there be a solution? I see photos correctly in webbrowser, but in wrong orientation in the iOS-App, so it seems quite obvious that the app doesn't respect the orientation stored in the Exif-Data.
Brgds

My issue was solved somehow - the iOS-App shows Photos in correct orientation again.
Thanks Lusil for your support.
Best regards
Michael
Same here. The odd thing is that it's random.... some portrait photos show up correctly and others rotate to landscape. Very frustrating as I can not modify the orientation!
Thanks @Lusil ! It appears the problem was fixed!
I just mentioned this to support and they said will get back to me soon.
Any luck? I went around and around with tech support last week and they also said they would "get back to me" after taking up maybe 3 hours of my time?? Still no word, no solution. They also now tell me they cannot "authenticate" my account when I try to chat through Dropbox, so we have to communicate through email which takes AGES. There are also 3-4 other glitches that have been happening and I'm fairly sure that, unless one has a business account, the support we get is half-rate at best. It feels like DB is on a backward slide
Hi @malvawalk, I'm sorry to hear about this situation.
I can see that your support ticket has been forwarded to a specialist team. I've gone ahead and prioritized the ticket to expedite matters on your behalf.
I hope this helps!
It's 6 months later and nothing has been solved. You closed my topic with a non-solution. Can you just fix it? It's happening on every browser. No one installed a **bleep** extension or whatever. Dropbox Paper suddenly started rotating photos. Doesn't matter if you use the app, browser or whatever.
Hi everyone, I found a solution to this problem.
Dropbox seemed to upload the image correctly when I rotated it upsidedown or 90 degrees but not when the image was sitting correctly. I assumed, without rotating the image, some metadata field was not explicitly stating "the photo should be oriented, this way" so dropbox assumed it should be oriented like a landscape, instead of a portrait.
I fixed this by importing the image into photoshop and rotating it 180 degrees, twice (basically spinning it 360 degrees) and then saving it again as a JPEG with a different filename. When I uploaded this re-saved image to dropbox paper, the image appeared with the correct orientation.
I don't know if this will work the same with other photo editing software, however, I think you have to edit the photo so that the metadata explicitly states what he orientation should be for the photograph.
I am having the same problem, iphone 11 pro max, photos go to camera uploads via Dropbox. Opening the camera uploads folder in Dropbox on my PC, all portrait photos show as landscape. Open any of them in Photoshop, export as a Web Legacy .jpg, into another folder, it then saves correctly and displays as portrait. Then, when exiting Photoshop it offers to save the file, if I say yes, it then saves the file back into the camera uploads folder and corrects the issue.
I would appreciate some help to correct this error.
I'm sadly having the same issue. I'm uploading RAW + XMP files... so the RAW files are showing incorrectly and NOT in portrait mode.
Hey @wildesara, and thanks for the nudge!Could you let me know if you are using automatic camera uploads, or are you manually uploading your pictures? Are you using your desktop computer, or your mobile device?Let us know!
