When I try to upload a PDF in gmail, I get error "Job reached maximum retry attempts".
How I can fix it?
Hey all,
Quick update on this. We've made some changes on our side that should improve the success rate for saving files to your Dropbox via the Gmail Chrome addin. The underlying cause behind the degradation in performance appears to be caused by an issue with attachment links that Gmail is providing us, so we've reached out to them to try and resolve this fully.
As always, once I have more information to share I'll loop back here with an update!
Frank
Dont work only pdf.
How i understand – permissions on chrome is ok.
I uninstall dropbox for gmail and install. The problem has not disappaered.
Very small, for example 47 KB, 75 KB.
My dropbox is no longer syncing with my Gmail account. I keep getting the error "Job reached maximum retry attempts" I have tried deleting the extension and reinstalling it a couple of times, but it's still not working. Is there anyone that can help me with this? I rely on this for my business.
Thank you, will do!
Keep getting the error: "Maximum job attempts reached" when trying to add attachments to my DropBox from email.
the save button disappeared ... it is not possible to save files to folders from G mail
the same problem on the phone. In the Android app, the save button disappeared
Hi @Dallas645,
My name is Frank and I'm a specialist at Dropbox. We recently had a bug with our Gmail integration that was causing it to not appear for some users, and may be related to the error message that you and some other users are seeing.
As a first step to try and resolve problems with the extension, can you please clear the cache and cookies of your web browser? An additional step that you can try if cearing cache and cookies is not enough would be to disable any other plugins that you may have recently installed to your web browser.
Let me know if you still encounter the error after trying the above, thank you!
I have a Gmail email account and recently got the dropbox feature where I am supposed to be able to just share it from the email into a dropbox file, but I keep getting the "Job reached maximum retry attempts" error. It will do it on smaller things (like one thing) but if there are multiple items it gives me the error. Please advise!
@lp2 I've merged your post into another thread regarding this issue. Please try @Frank_S's suggestion above, and reply back is you still have a problem.
I tried with the solution of cleaning the cookies and cache but it's not working.
Do you have any update about a fix for this bug ?
Regards,
I always get emails with attached documents and I click on the Dropbox, open box icon, and hit save to proper files. They do not SAVE and give message "Job reached maximum retry attempts."
I am having the very same issue, beginning just a couple of days ago after using the plugin for over a year. Tried the clearing the cache and cookies, updated my version of Chrome, uninstalled and reinstalled the Dropbox for Gmail app...still not working. Has this issue been resolved? Please share. Thanks!

we are getting a "max number of retry attempts failed" message when uploading docs from gmail to dropbox. HELP
Has there been any resolution to this issue. I continue to have no ability to open Gmail, select an attachment, select SAVE TO DROPBOX. I receive the message "saving to Dropbox" then "Maximum retry attempts" message. Nothing was saved.
This doesnt work, i have the same problem. Another solution?
I have tried clean the cookie and cache. Unistall and re-install the extension in Chrome. All in vain.
It would worked (saving to dropbox from Chrome-Gmail), sometimes, when I restart the computer. But more oftern than not, it doesnt work.
I have received "max retry attemps failed" message. How do i fix it.

Hello, @Cleanliving...
Are you referring to trying to Login to your Dropbox account unsuccessfully? If so, you can click here to reset your password.
If above isn't of any help to you, then we need more specifics so we can better assist you.
Frank, has there been any resolution to this issue? It continues to persist ever after cache cleaning and plug disabling. Would love a resolution date for this extremely useful feature that is now gone
Apologies for the delayed response here. I haven't been able to reproduce any issues with the Gmail extension since my last reply on this thread, however this is clearly still a problem for many people so will investigate further and follow up with our engineers.
Will post an update here once I have an update, thank you all for your patience.
