Can you help me restore files deleted more than 30 days ago on a Dropbox Basic account?

Hello Dropbox Support Team,

I am writing to request your help recovering files that were deleted from my account more than 30 days ago. Unfortunately, I only discovered the deletion recently, after the standard retention period had passed.

The files are irreplaceable family photos, most of them stored in a folder named "dir_fotos" “fotos” And other. These pictures hold deep sentimental value for me and my family, and losing them permanently would be truly heartbreaking.

I kindly ask if your team could check whether these files still exist on your servers and perform a recovery beyond the standard retention window. I understand this may be an exceptional request, but I would be extremely grateful for any effort to restore them.

Approximate deletion date: January to May 2026
File types: photos (JPG/PNG)

Hi there @alexandremrck - sorry to hear about your deleted photos.

I'll be more than happy to look into this internally, but before we switch to email communication can you clarify a couple of things?

Have you checked your deleted files page, the events page, the backups page and your sharing page as well for the missing files?

If you've ensured that you're looking at the correct Dropbox account, when is the last time you remember seeing any of them on your account?

Let me know more and we'll take it from there.

PS: Upgrading your account wouldn't help much here as the upgraded version history wouldn't work retroactively.
