My files were permanently deleted due to space issues. Can I restore them?

Good evening, I am emailing to see if it’s possible to have access to the items that were deleted off my profile. I wasn’t aware of the deletion happening (I rarely use the email associated with the Dropbox account) and I am 18 days late to the cut off. It just so happened I needed access to my scrivener writing app which is synced with Dropbox so I searched for Dropbox and saw the email that I didn’t see before saying that you guys would delete everything on May 10th (30 days after that permanently).

There needs to be a way to get everything back so that I can transfer all the files to safety that were deleted by you guys. If I need to pay for a month I will I just can’t lose these files photos and videos. Please tell me there is a way to allow access again at minimum for a day so that I can save my files. Please let me know. I’ve been searching and trying everything to find what I can that’s still available but I need those files please

I emailed support and it almost immediately said support has been closed automatically…

Hello dropbox admin please help. Today is 30 days since I got the email that some space had been cleared in my account, but when i try to go to upgrade and restore the files, there is nothing there. Please could you clarify if indeed my files were permanently deleted and if so how can i restore them please. They were old photos that are irreplaceable.

If the deleted tab does not have anything to recover then I'm afraid it means they are no longer recoverable.

Have you had a look at this link? Just to check you are looking in the right place?

The other consideration (although you would see the files on the Deleted page if they were recoverable) is that you can only recover if you have enough free quota.

Thanks Mark, yes thats where I've been looking. I'm confused about upgrading now though if I dont see recoverable files. Since they were auto-deleted I am praying that they are still recoverable and I can upgrade once I know thats the case. Thoughts? wouldn't they still show under "last 12 months"??

The 'last 12 months' option only works if you have a recovery window that allows that. So, no, it wouldnt show up for you.

One thing to check is you are on the right account - make sure you dont accidentally have multiple accounts and the files have been wiped from the other

On the Dropbox website, look for the "Deleted files" option in the left sidebar. Your photos might be listed there and available for restoration.
