I'm experiencing a Dropbox Paper issue that started about 3 days ago and has not resolved.
Symptoms:
- All existing Dropbox Paper documents return a 404 error when opened.
- Creating a new Dropbox Paper document appears to succeed (the file is created in the folder), but opening it immediately results in a 404 error.
-
https://paper.dropbox.com
returns a 403 Forbidden error.
- Dropbox Home works normally.
- Folder creation works normally.
- Image files and other regular files can be opened normally.
- Shared folders can be accessed normally.
- File sharing actions sometimes fail with the message: "Sharing activity has been interrupted."
Troubleshooting already performed:
- Tested on desktop and mobile devices.
- Tested multiple browsers.
- Cleared browser cache and cookies.
- Logged out and logged back in.
Most importantly, this issue is not limited to my own account or devices.
People I have shared folders with are also unable to open the Dropbox Paper documents that I own. They receive the same problem when attempting to access those Paper documents. However, regular folders and non-Paper files remain accessible.
This makes me suspect that there may be an issue affecting Dropbox Paper documents associated with my account rather than a local browser or device problem.
My account is a Dropbox Basic account.
Has anyone seen this behavior before, or is Dropbox aware of any Paper-related issues that could cause:
- 404 errors for all Paper documents,
- 403 errors on paper.dropbox.com,
- newly created Paper documents that cannot be opened,
- and shared users being unable to access those same Paper documents?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
