Earlier this year I signed into my Dropbox account only to find all my files had been deleted. I assumed this was because I lost access to my university email account after graduation, but I contacted our institutional administrator and apparently my account was never insitutional. It was a personal account using my institutional email address. IT also confirmed that if I had a forwarding email (which I do) that there is no reason that I shouldn't still be able to access my dropbox files using this institutional email address.
Still, no files are visible.
I know that collaborators did not delete the files because everything was lost at the same time and my folders have a range of different collaborators.
None of the Help Center guidance worked - there are/were no deleted file visible in my account to restore.
I also do not have the original device from which I was syncing my files to Dropbox, and I know it has been cleared, so I am unable to locate the files on my device. However, I am fairly sure that that they did sync as before things were deleted I would see them when logging on in my browser.
Help?
