Want to migrate files to Google Drive as I'm out of space - but now my files are missing

Question

According to Dropbox, I am over my 7,7 GB limit. I killed the subscription because no one in my orbit uses Dropbox, and its expensive.

But then I had to download all of my files on to my hardrive. Problem - not enough space. So I have half my files on my hard drive. I moved these across to external.

Then I started downloading the rest of them onto my external hardrive - but now I just have the folders and no files?

I read that I couldn't get more space by deleting some files as then it would randomly start deleting other files. Between Microsoft and Dropbox - they have decimated my files. Gone.

Dropbox still says I'm over the limit - but I'll be ****** if I can find the fiels in the folders which are still there.

And the files are gone on my Laptop.

I tried a recover of the deleted files - but that didn't work and then tried Recuva - but I got a gazillion weirdly coded files which No programme knows what to do with.

Help. Is all lost?

Is that what you see on the Dropbox website here, Alex? Only empty folders?

I have the folders - but there dont seem to be any files in them. And I can't find them to get the storage down.

Hi there, @Alexsch, sorry to see you're having problems with this.

Can you fully access all your files when you go to your "All files" page on the Dropbox website? Meaning, do all your folders have all your files in them, etc.?

Also, how are you downloading the files? Through the Dropbox website?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
