The "share" button when trying to share a folder from the website or Finder is grayed out

I am trying to share a folder in Dropbox which I have done several times. I hover over the folder in the Dropbox website and click Share. The Add People box comes up and I have tried adding a name or an email address, and the Share button never becomes active. I am running Tahoe 26.5 on a Mac. I have tried restarting the computer, the Finder, and Dropbox, and I have tried on two different browsers. What is going on?

Have you tried clearing cache and cookies on the browsers?

Do you have Dropbox installed on your machine? Does it work if you right-click on the folder and try 'Share' ?

I have cleared the browsers. I have tried choosing the folder in the Dropbox folder itself, on their website, and from the menu bar on the computer. Same result every time.

Does this occur for any email address you're trying to add, or is it only for specific people or email addresses?

Are you a member of a Dropbox team, or is this a personal Dropbox account?

Any other info or screenshots (while hiding any email addresses) would be helpful!

I have tried multiple emails & names, but the only ones that activate the Share button are those few names in the Suggested People box. There are only 5 that show up there and none of them are who I want to share a folder with.

I forgot to redact the emails in my screenshot, would be nice to have an option to edit/delete my own comment here but I couldn't see a way to do that. Is there one or could you add that in your upgrade of the Community site?

Hi from me as well, @Suetervs! I edited your screenshot, so no worries about that.

Just to confirm, do the people you're trying to add, have Dropbox accounts of their own?

If not, do they need to edit the folder or just view it?

If they only need to view it, can you try sharing a link with them instead, to see if you're having issues with that too?

As for the option to edit or delete your comment, can you let me know which options you see when you click on the "…" (ellipsis) button next to your comment?

The person I'm trying to share a folder with does have a personal Dropbox account. The goal is for both of us to edit a folder.

As for the ellipsis, the only choices are Mute and Report.

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see after you type in the email address of the person you want to share the folder with? I'll edit it too, not to worry.

I just want to see if the button is still grayed out and unclickable after the email address is fully typed in.

Also, is this happening with all your folders or just this one?

OH - I hit the spacebar after putting in an email address and then the Share button became active! Still doesn't with a name alone but I can just work around that.

Would still like to see a way to edit or delete a message here though.

The only ellipsis available to me is on my original post. None of my replies has an ellipsis visible. The screenshot here is what I see when I look at my reply.

And by the way, I meant to say "It is greatly appreciated" at the end of it - not sure why it didn't come through that way.
