I tried to upload a folder via file request, but nothing happened. Has it been uploaded?

I have received a file request from another user, to upload a folder into his storage "area". I got the email, clicked the link, and got a window with a file submission area. I pressed the upload button. There was no response, no "upload started" or "progress" message. I cannot tell if the folder is being uploaded or has been uploaded. Eventually I can ask the requester if he got the files, but that is potentially a tedious back-and-forth process (especially if the upload failed, or didn't even start).

Is there a way for the non-requester to verify that the file is being uploaded?

I think I figured out the problem. In a previous use in a single file, it was quick. But the real use (as above) was to transfer a 22GB folder with thousands of files including subdirectories. It seems that the routine (as seen on Firefox) was silently computing something (maybe "best strategy to upload", who knows) so it seemed unresponsive. Therefore I clicked again. And eventually a third time. I'm checking with the recipient to see what he actually got.

About an hour later, a folder icon with an arrow materialized, and I followed that to see some blue "not uploaded" markers vs. some green "uploaded" marks, and a "... files to go" and "time to completion" estimate. At the end, I got an email saying that the files had been uploaded.

A suggestion: perhaps give a simple text response like "calculating" and/or "upload started" so that users will know that they don't need to click again, and again, and again.
