Hi I have a problem with the paper.dropbox.com my images are not appear:
Hi @andrewtsymbal, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Do the images not preview in all docs or just a specific one?
Do you remember how these images added to the Paper doc (I.e. dragging and dropping, pasting, clicking the Dropbox icon)?
If you add a new image to the doc, does it successfully preview?
This will help me to assist further!
Hi, only about half of the document images have a preview, and the latest images (about 30%- 40% of them) do not appear. However, when I click on the links in the warning message, images get downloaded so they are not deleted or moved.
I dragged and dropped them into the browser to add them.
And yes, if I add a new image, it works fine.
Hope you don’t mind me jump in, @andrewtsymbal. Do you see the exact same thing on different browsers?
Feel free to test this on an incognito window as well and let me know what happens then.
Yes, the issue occurred in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers, and it persisted even in incognito mode.
Hey @andrewtsymbal, let me also jump in here!
You mentioned that when you click on the links in the warning message, the images get downloaded.
Would you be able to send me a couple of screenshots from the process of you trying to preview the images within a Paper document, in order for me to have a visual?
Sure,
Also, if I copy this blue link and past into the browser, the image is downloading

Hey @andrewtsymbal, thanks for that!
Approximately how many pictures do you have in one document? If you create a new Paper doc with only a few images, does it load normally?
I have 130 images, and 44 of them, which were uploaded last, are not loading.
If I upload new images to this document, they are uploaded successfully, but after refreshing the page, the same issue occurs.
In the new document with a several images, everything is working fine.
Hey @andrewtsymbal, I'm afraid we can't open the .gif that you sent us, it looks broken on our end; can you attach a screenshot to your next reply instead?
Also, if you create a new Paper doc and copy the entire content of the one that has the issue, do the images load on the new one?
Hi @Hannah, when I click on the Retry button (3-4 times) image is loading:
I was also attempting to transfer all the images to the new document. The images that were appearing correctly before are working as they should, but some of the broken ones are showing up while others are not. Here are a few screenshots:
This one screenshot from the original doc, only one image has a preview and others are not
After the copy to a new doc all of them are appearing
Here is an another set of images from the original doc
After coping to the new doc only a few images appeared:
Hey @andrewtsymbal, can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Hey @Megan I already did this, and details were relayed to the engineering team.
Great ****** @andrewtsymbal!
Thanks for that. I can see that the case has been escalated.
Keep an eye out, and once the specialized team has further news, they'll update the ticket.
I am having this same issue with all of our documents- how do I submit a ticket and what is the resolution?
Hey @ElizabethErinDesigns! I can see you have a ticket with our support and our advanced team is already handling your request.
Since they have more advanced tools at their disposal and account visibility that we don't here on the forum, I recommend continuing with them directly.
Having the same issue, what is the solution?
Hey @evanhill, thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see that you're having this issue.
Are you getting the same error on other browsers as well?
Does it happen with your existing Paper docs or just new ones?
Hi all, just adding my voice to this thread as I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Broken/missing images in Dropbox Paper docs are affecting two separate accounts — my personal account and my partner’s account — so this is clearly not an isolated or account-specific problem.
This has been ongoing for approximately 6 months with no resolution. I’ve extensively troubleshooted on my end and can confirm the issue persists across:
• Multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) • Multiple devices — both iOS and Mac • The native Dropbox Paper app on iOS The images simply fail to load regardless of environment, which strongly points to this being a backend/infrastructure issue on Dropbox’s side — specifically the DNS resolution failure for paper-attachments.dropboxusercontent.com that others have identified on this forum.
This is genuinely concerning as these documents contain important reference material for my day to day work that is now inaccessible. I need the images restored so I can migrate my work documents to a more stable long term platform
Could a Dropbox team member please provide an update on whether there is an active fix in progress and an expected resolution timeline? Reviewing other threads on this forum, I see that this error has been open since October 2025 with no resolution, and users are still being affected.
Thank you 🙏
Hi @samson88, thanks for the details.
Could you clarify how you added the images to your Paper doc?
Did you copy and paste them, drag and drop, upload them manually, or import them from your Dropbox account?
