Scanned PDFs with Dropbox mobile app are not searchable

Hi there, I just signed up with DropBox on the Plus plan.  I'm trying to scan my paper documents into searchable pdfs.  Unfortunately when I use the scanner within the DropBox mobile app, the resulting pdfs are not searchable.  However, when I use a 3rd party app (Scanner Pro) on the same iPad (linked to DropBox), I am able to search the text within the pdf.

Please advise how I can get the scanner working within the DropBox mobile app, as this would be much more convenient.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.
I am opening up the DropBox app on my iPad (also tried my iPhone) and using the + button to scan a document. For example, I tried several receipts I received in the mail.
They scan correctly and appear in my DropBox files, but when I search for a keyword, nothing is found.
If I do the exact same thing on the same device but using a 3rd party scanning app (Scanner Pro), it works perfectly and I’m able to search the resulting pdfs with no problems.

Are you referring to scanning Dropbox Paper docs into PDF files?

Can you please describe the steps you're following to accomplish this?
