I want to remove the payment option from my account. However, I cannot do this myself from the account page -- Dropbox itself points me to their customer service. I have Dropbox Basic, which only gives me access to the help center, the community, and a useless chatbot. The only community post I've found on this topic says that I have to talk to someone on the support staff, but this seems out of reach for a lowly Basic user like me. The chatbot just says that I can manage my billing options etc from the account page and that I should upgrade to get more support.
Is there a way to remove the payment option from my Basic account without upgrading to a paid membership to be allowed to send the support staff an email?
This experience has been an absolute nightmare even though it has just consumed 30 minutes of my life. I have seen more disgusting anti-patterns on this website than I count. So embarrassing...
