Hi. Some of my own shared folders read "You have not joined this folder" when I am the owner. Anybody any idea why this? Thank you.
Hi @anazacco,
Glad to help!
You're welcome any time
Hi @anazacco, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Did you delete the shared folder when viewing your list of folders?
You should be able to add the folder back to your account from this page.
Keep me updated with any progress!
Hi and thanks a lot.
The "this page" link leads me to my own shared folders site!
(No te has unido a esta carpeta = You have not joined this folder... and, again, I am the folder's owner and admin...)
Are you able to rejoin your shared folder from that page?
Just so you're aware, it is possible to be the owner of a shared folder and to not have it added to your account, which would take up quota to do so.
Yes, I can rejoin. But I do not understand what it means that I have not added it to my account. All folders have been added from my account...
Basically, you can create a shared folder, invite other users to it if need be, and at some point you temporarily removed it from your account, even though you still own it.
I never deleted any of these folders, neither temporarily.
Will it be a problem if I clic on Rejoin?
Hey @anazacco, if you click to add the folders to your account, they will be added to it and will take up space in it, that's all.
I hope this helps!
Happy to help clarify here.
When you join a folder, it will use space from your Dropbox plan.
On your computer, it depends on your preferences.
Did you set the default to be "online", or "offline" for new files on the computer?
You can right click any item that sync to the computer and choose either "Make available offline" (uses space on your computer), or "Make available online-only"
Let me know how it goes!
I am having the same problem where I see my folder on the Shared page and it says "You haven't joined this folder", but for me, the problem is I deleted that folder weeks ago and there are no other authorized users but myself, so why does it keep showing up on this page? I can click the Join Folder button again and gain access, but don't want to. I want it to go away.
Hi @usjdpdb, welcome to our Community!
On the right hand-side of the page, you should be able to see three dots (...), that will give you the option to unshare the folder entirely.
Have you tried clicking on that?
Let me know of the results!
The only thing to the right of the folder is Join Folder, there is no Unshare option???
Hi @usjdpdb, there should be an ellipsis to the right of the 'Join folder' button. Could you try expanding the window somehow or zooming out of the page in the browser to view it?
Others, could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?
No luck. The first screengrab was in Chrome, and this one below is from FF... same thing. The Join Folder in the only option for right, there is no ellipsis to the right of it. And the image below is pulled from a massive external monitor, so it is showing all.
Could you try going into the Folders tab instead of the Recents tab to see if the folder is visible there, with any other options next to it?
No luck, same exact layout and button options on the Folders tab. Good idea though.
Hi @usjdpdb, can you also try to click ''Join Folder'' , and then after that should be an ellipsis with ''Remove from Dropbox''.
That should do the trick.
I've done that a number of times as well and every time I delete the Folder it shows up back on the Shared page again.
Hi @usjdpdb, are you the owner of the folder, or a member there?
Yes I am.
Could you clarify which of the two is the case there @usjdpdb?
Sorry, I am the owner.
Okay, so just to clarify everything, you're the owner of this folder, which you cannot add to your account due to lack of quota, and there are no options to delete or remove your access from the folder, is that right?
Do you see any events showing the deletion of this folder?
Yes, that is correct. But the same description applies even when I had plenty of space to add it. It simply wont go away
Hi @usjdpdb, can I send you and email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Of course, thanks
I just sent you an email @usjdpdb, I'll see you there!
