There was some correspondence on this subject in 2019 but it doesn't seem to work now.
Hey @trevor34smith, thanks for the screenshot!
You mentioned that when you right click, you can't paste the email there. Have you tried using the CTRL+V shortcut to paste the email there?
Hey @trevor34smith, I'd be happy to help with this!
First thing you will want to do is write down the email address, then copy it. Usually you can either press Ctrl + C if you're on a Windows device, or Command-C if you're on a Mac.
Then, you need to follow these steps in order to share the folder, or file. When you try to share, you'll click Command-V or Ctrl + V and that should do the trick. Have you tried it?
Keep me posted!
Hi Megan,
I use a Windows desktop computer.
I highlight the email address that I want to copy,
Right click and then select Copy.
I then go to dropbox, click on the "Share" next to the relevant folder - which brings up a mini-screen with a box where I Enter the email address. (It offers me a couple of people who I have Dropboxed before, but these aren't the person I want to share with). I right click to bring up a list of possibilities, and I select Paste.
Nothing happens.
Any more thoughts?
Cheers, Trevor
Hey there, Trevor! Thanks for letting me know more about this.
Have you tried a different browser by any chance? If not, can you give this one a go, and let me know if you notice the same kind of behavior there?
I was using Chrome when I encountered the problem.
I've now tried doing the same stuff using Firefox and it's a bit worse. The menu that opens when I try to paste the email address into Dropbox has "paste" greyed out, so I can't do it at all.
Trevor
Hi @trevor34smith, do you have any screenshots you can provide? Just make sure none of your personal info is shown there.
Is this what you want by way of a Screenshot?
That seems to have done it Megan. Thank you.
Amazing news, @trevor34smith!
If you need anything else, just let me know! 😎
