HiCan somebody please help me as all my Albums not files have disappeared.I have hundreds of pictures stored in these albums and need them back?Look for to hearing back from people
Hey Martyn, sorry to jump in here, but I just want to clarify that we have recently made a change to the Dropbox Android mobile application that has removed the "Albums" from the Photos tab. This change didn’t remove photos or videos you’ve uploaded to the app. You can still find your uploaded photos and videos in the Photos tab or at dropbox.com/photos For this and more common fixes for the Android app, you can check out this Help Center article. I hope this helps!
Mod note: edited to update link in post [last update 2023]
for some odd reason on my phone app I can no longer see all the Albums i set up for my photographs.
Any suggestions
I also just discovered that the Albums feature is gone. What was the justification for removing them? As others have noted here we spent HOURS AND HOURS organizing photos using Albums. When Dropbox announced this feature all of the tech sites highlighted what an amazing feature it was. So for it to silently disappear without giving us the option to export them or "migrate" them to a different structure is really negligent. Does anyone at Dropbox have a suggestion on how to recover or migrate the old Albums to the new folder structure or are the Albums gone forever?
Hi, so I used the Albums feature of the Dropbox App very intensively, it was just perfect. Suddenly it disappeared. The Support told me, that, well it was turned down. My lots of albums? Are gone.My hours of work? Are gone. When did it happen? of course two days after they charged another year of dropbox. So my really fancy idea is: Bring back the Albums and never again just deactivate such a feature without telling the customers! If that is not possible, I will need to look for an other cloud operator. Maybe you can suggest one? Thank you very much in advance.
For me it's a disaster. If they don't bring it back, I have to rebuild the Albums for days in different provider and let Dropbox back. I don't can understand a decision like that!
I also cant find any of the albums I created on the android app and i'm using version 272.2.6 of the app
Without warning, the albums feature disappeared. I've been using Dropbox since 2006, and have been a paying customer for the last several years, using it for business photos. I depended on the albums feature to find photos quickly for projects I was working on. Without that feature, I now have to scroll through thousands of photos to find the one I want...
Why would the company think taking the albums feature away (without warning, I might add again) was a good move?
I've been on the forum and have seen many, many unhappy customers for the reasons I outlined above. Most changes occur to improve a site, this change certainly did not.
Dear Dropbox!
As a person who works in IT for 25 years I can say that you've handled this very poorly.
Personally, I haven't used albums that much (because they were hard to use, and the sharing was not working all the time), but I can imagine that many people have spent a great amount of effort to organize their photo collections into albums and now you have just destroyed that effort without giving them any kind of alternative or event automatic migration of albums into folders (or something).
As a paying customer I'm wondering what's going on at Dropbox to make such poor decisions, and if I should perhaps think about taking my files elsewhere?

You have got to be kidding me. I thought I did something stupid. I have been trying and trying to find the albums I made for WORK
THIS SUCKS
time to find a new place
Wow. I can't believe that Dropbox would just unceremoniously and without warning delete people's photo albums. I too had spent a lot of time organizing photos. The worst part, apart from losing all that organization is that it makes me NOT TRUST dropbox anymore. What else are they going to do with our files without telling us? A least a warning would have been nice, so we could move them somewhere else. Sigh. My work has been trying to get me to switch over to onedrive and I've always held on to dropbox, partly for the photo organization. Maybe now is the time to make the change. I'm really disappointed.
over 3000 photos of my deceased dog is gone, my big brother's funeral, my mom's funeral, my son's friend (turned 17) funeral, my sons pictures, and much more are gone, I have cried so much. Can only hope that Dropbox reintroduces the albums as they were before they were removed ... do not know what I do if the photos are gone forever ... SHAME DROPBOX!
This is absolute horse**bleep**. I just spent 45 minutes trying to figure out what the hell happened to the albums I'd created. I had one that I used all the time; it was a collection of photographs of things I found myself frequently referencing, like photographs of my vehicle's license plates, VINs, my family's social security numbers, my wife's driver's license. Images I'd taken over the course of 13 years, all helpfully grouped together and now I have to go back through tens of thousands of photos to find the 14 that I had grouped together there. Not to mention the albums I'd made of my kids to show to people who'd asked. A very carefully curated set of a dozen or so photos that I thought were most representative of--oh, for eff's sake. I don't need to tell you what photo albums are for. I just can't for the life of me understand why the hell you removed this extremely useful (and honestly very basic) feature. What drugs are your product managers on that they thought this was a great idea? Absolute crap communication with your customers, too, about it.
I honestly can't put my frustration with this asinine move into works.
Agreed. If I'd had some notification that my album was going to go away, I'd have taken a moment to take those 14 photos (out of 27,000 or so from the past 14 years) and make them available elsewhere. Now, I have no freaking clue where they are. I lost them just like I lost my keys. Sure, there's still SOMEWHERE in my house, but unless they're on the shelf where they belong they might as well just be utterly gone.
I spent 45 minutes first trying to figure out where the feature went and then another hour scrolling through thousands of photos and I've found 5 of the 14 so far. Not just the fact that a useful feature is now dead, but just the shear waste of my time this has created. By a product I *pay for*.
