Small file upload stuck at 54 MB when uploading from Windows (Chrome/Firefox)

Hi, I am trying to upload a 71mb file via the website from windows.

I initially uploaded the file from a linux machine on chromium browser with no problem. However from a windows machine using google chrome I tried to update that one file.

First I just tried uploading in the hope it would overwrite the existing file, but the upload became stuck at 54mb 2s remaining. I waited a long time, cancelled, retried - same result.

So I deleted the file I was trying to overwrite on dropbox & tried to upload again - same result stuck at 54mb/71 2s remaining.

So I tried uploading from firefox - same result stuck at 54mb / 71mb 2s remaining.

I have 900/300 Mbps down/up connection & 2GB space on the dropbox account.

There have been 2 seconds left for over 10 minutes now.

I haven't used this for ages, but get constant reminders about using it. Well this is why I don't. I need to get this uploaded but instead spend 30 minutes trying multiple attempts & then searching for answers, then registering for community help & typing a long e-mail. It's a frustrating user experience.

Successful upload: Linux Mint 22.04, chromium browser
stuck upload: Windows 10, latest Firefox, latest chrome

Hello Megan,

I have network level ad-blocking / privacy extension which protect both the linux & windows machines alike and the linux upload was successful

Both machines connect through the same VPN connection
Chrome & chromium run incognito on win10 & linux with no plugins (ad-blockers / privacy extensions)

The file type is .reason - an audio workstation master mix file.

When I restarted the windows machine and attempted again, changing nothing, the upload completed in seconds without issue.

In both the unsuccessful attempt & the successful attempt, under windows, the conditions from machine boot to upload were identical :/

So the file is uploaded but there's no clue or indication as to why it took me an hour & lot's of typing to do so.

Let's jump right into this. To help narrow down what's causing the upload to stall, let's try a few quick checks:

-Are you running any ad blockers, privacy extensions, or a VPN/firewall on your Windows PC that might differ from your Linux setup? If so, then please try opening a private or incognito window to see if the behavior remains the same.
-Try signing out of your account, clearing your browser's cache, restarting your browser, signing back in, and attempting the upload in a brand-new file.
-What file type is this? Have you tried uploading a different file of a similar size (around 70 MB) to see if the issue happens with other files as well?
-As a quick test, try copying the file to your Windows desktop, renaming it to something simple (like test.txt or a short name), and uploading that copy.

Let me know how it goes and we can take it from there!

and just confirming, back on linux upload succesfully completes in 10s or so
