I get it. I'm on a free plan, I only have 2GB, my files aren't gonna sync. But please stop pestering me about it. I don't plan on paying for a subscription anytime soon and I'd like to be able to use my computer without getting this constant popup.

We appreciate your feedback here. I understand you're referring to notifications on the Dropbox desktop app, right? That small Dropbox icon in your task bar?
Are you actually using the app, if you can't sync files? I mean that if you don't need it, you can always disconnect the computer from your account and uninstall the app.
If you do want to keep using it, though, you could go to the app's preferences and turn off notifications.
Otherwise, you could check out this article on how you can earn some free bonus space or delete some files to go under quota again.
