Installation error with code 1073741795 on Windows 11

I have been using Dropbox successfully in my W11 Dell Notebook for few years. Suddenly Dropbox stopped working. I have uninstalled it and tried to install it again. Nightmare! Cant install it and get the 1073741795 error code in every attempt.

I have tried builds 266.3.3789 260.4.3183 260.4.2926 240.4.8493 of course using adm privileges.

I have tried everything that is pointed out in similar posts. Always the same error message.

BTW, I tried in a ****** W11 PC and installation goes well.

I uninstalled all I could by hand and/or with uninstalling SW before new installations. My guess is that something left by previous installations is preventing newer DB versions to be installed.

I need a solution or a work around. I will travel abroad and I need this notebook to work with Dropbox as it always did.

Hey @py2xb - thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you've ensured that this is not caused by an antivirus, firewall or VPN/proxy setting, could you try the offline installer from this page directly and let me know how it goes?

If the issue persists, you might want to try an advanced reinstall as well.

In any case, please keep us posted.

Yes, I am sure it is not caused by an antivirus, firewall or VPN/proxy . As I mentioned I have tried all procedure suggested in similar posts including Advanced reinstall. I spet hours on it before sending a message here.

I have just tried the build that you suggested , ie 264.4.3385. Same error !!!

Dropbox always worked great in this notebook. It was working 6 days ago. It is smething new and happened in a recent update.

Need a fix badly. Thnaks

Walter, I am an EE and I understand that things can go wrong and needed to be fixed. But this has been on for a while. I am travelling to Asia in a few days and I need to keep up with my files. I am looking to alternative from your competitors if this is not fixed in the next few days. I appreciate your help. Fred
