Dropbox Capture deletes files when I drag and drop them to my desktop

Question

I download a file to my downloads folder and i drag and drop it onto my desktop and Dropbox capture deletes the file from my desktop. This is 1 of countless examples of how  dropbox overly complicated user experience causes files to be deleted or lost. I have been with Dropbox for almost 20 years i remember this dude named  Drew  started a really cool helpful cloud collaboration tool. Since then Drew has left and no longer cares about this company leaving myself and others with a  complicated counter intuitive so called 'storage' tool. These people are so full of themselves they think this overly complicated functionality is helpful and are changing it constantly one needs to study their systems full time to properly use. What happened to the idea of simplicity, transparency and intuitive design. Can someone please suggest a alternative to this company im so fed up.

Could you confirm that you're using Dropbox Capture, as you mentioned in your post?

I'm asking since Dropbox Capture was discontinued in March 2025, so if that app is still installed on your machine then it could be doing some unexpected behavior, as it is no longer supported.

Whatever details you can provide, even if they seem small, will help us get to the bottom of this together.
