Dropbox prevents exporting Word documents as PDF and opening files after publishing on NAS

Question

While the Dropbox app is running, when i saving a word document as a pdf in a folder on my NAS and select the "open file after publishing" option, the pdf file will not be saved successfully. If I don't select the "open file after publishing" option, the pdf file will be saved successfully.

It only happens in the folder on NAS. And close the Dropbox app will solve the problem. Saving as a pdf in a local folder doesn't have this problem no matter the Dropbox app is running or not.

And the Dropbox sync folder is a local folder. It doesn't have connections with my NAS.

I have contacted the Microsoft Community but they also couldn't find a solution.

Maybe the problem comes from the NAS.

Thanks for the info. This looks to be related to how files are being saved within Word, while a file is in the Dropbox folder, to a NAS folder.

As we wouldn't be able to troubleshoot how Word is unable to save or preview a file once saved from within its program, it might be better to contact Microsoft directly to see if other users have experienced any similar behavior.
