Storing very private data in Dropbox

Hello

I’m looking for a powerful solution to edit and manage my office data in the cloud. I have a lot of PDFs, spreadsheets, and text documents.

Are there people who store their fairly private data—such as invoices, contracts, bank statements, etc.—in Dropbox?

Everywhere I read that Dropbox scans and analyzes the data—and who knows what they do with it.

I’m a bit uneasy and not quite sure what to do.

Yes I do. I literally have everything on here.

Putting it bluntly, every single file storage solution (and email provider) scans and does something with your data - be that Google/Yahoo or Office to give targeted advertising or solutions like here, where it's more around providing services, which shows the most recently opened files/similar documents. The issue is getting much bigger as well with lots of services to do with PDFs etc. now that AI is involved as that is also sent to places for them to analyse and provide data on it.

For me Dropbox is one of the safest as it doesnt have linked services (like email/advertising revenue etc.) plus I work on the assumption that actually my data is safe as, well, its boring! I dont hold any huge personal secrets within it.
