There are invisible files taking up my Dropbox space and I can't delete them.

I pay for 3 TB

A large UpdraftPlus backup was uploaded to my Dropbox.

The files appeared briefly in Recent, but the actual folder has never been visible in All files.

Search does not find the folder either.

I deleted the backup from UpdraftPlus, but Dropbox still says I am massively over my storage limit.

My visible files did not explain the storage usage, so I believe hidden UpdraftPlus/app-folder files are still present. And now they are no longer visible in Recent files.

How do I find and permanently delete these files?

Have you tried navigating to your backups page and see if you can find and delete this backup from there?

There is nothing in “Backups.”

Updraft has its own names for its invisible folders. I searched for those proprietary paths, but they are completely hidden.

But I have now discovered that it is connected to an Updraft app. If I delete that app, will the invisible folders also disappear?

Hey @Gofi, hope you don’t mind if I jump in here.

I can’t guarantee that disconnecting the app from Dropbox will have any impact on your current usage.

However, can you send me a screenshot of your Subscriptions page here first? I can take a look and we’ll go from there.

It looks like you’re under-quota once more indeed!

You’re no longer seeing the error message in your screenshot stating that you have no space, correct?
