All of my shared links and files are still downloadable to people I sent the links too even after I have deleted the folders and my dropbox account. When will they finally go away?
Hey @LB3444 - thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you just clarify if you've deleted the files that your shared links are pointing to and/or the links themselves from your sharing tab?
Let me know more and we'll take it from there.
Shared links that I made public. I don't have anything at the link you shared. I don't know why these are still visible for people

They are then being shared from a different account.
If you do not have the file on your device and nothing is at that URL then you are not sharing them.
Have a look for emails from mailto:no-reply@dropbox.com to see if you get emails to a different address at some point and accidentally have 2 accounts.
It is shared from the same account/ exact same link I used before. It evens says my account in incognito mode. Still not down.
Hey @LB3444, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here as well.
Can you please send us a screenshot of what you see here?
Also, if you use the search bar on the Dropbox website to search for the files you shared through a Dropbox link, do you get any results?
And lastly, can you let us know how you created those links?

If it isnt showing at http://www.dropbox.com/links then the link isnt from the account you are logged in as. So, if the link is still working its coming from a different account.
I see nothing, but I deleted my old account which has all those links. I am talking to you from a new account just to get support and Dropbox hasn't responded to my ticket in 3 days. I created publicly viewable links for viewing to whoever has the link. When I click on those exact same links, it evens says my account in incognito mode, not shared by someone else. None of my files appear when I try to search for them.

Hi from me as well, @LB3444.
Can you clarify what you mean when saying that you can see your account when opening these links via incognito mode?
Please also send me a screenshot of what you see, so that I can take a look (unless there’s private info you don’t wish to share here).

What do you mean it says your account?
Dropbox cannot show files that are not uploaded to its servers. Deleting an account deletes all files. So if the account they were uploaded from was deleted the links would automatically fail. The fact they are not failing means the account they are on hasnt been deleted.
Here is the name of my account in incognito mode in the upper left. I am not logged in. Virtually every drop box link I have ever created a link for is still up and available for download.
Hi @LB3444, thanks for your message.
As you've deleted your account, Dropbox will delete your files from the server permanently after 30 days have passed, according to our Privacy Policy.
This means that files and folders that were visible via shared links might still be visible during this 30 day period.
After this time has passed, the links would no longer work, and no files would be visible.
If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
Is there any way they can wipe them completely before then? I 100% will not miss them. I thought these files and links would stop working when I wanted them to. That is disappointing to hear about dropbox's service.
As you've already deleted the account, there wouldn't be any way for us to delete the shared links immediately, since the account associated with them is no longer available.
As you are concerned about this data, you can try contacting the privacy team by emailing privacy@dropbox.com to see what can be done in this instance.
It is a major privacy concern if links stay live after an account is gone. Normally, a full deletion should kill all shared tokens and access points immediately. If these are still reachable, it might be a cache issue on the server side or a delay in the database sync. You should check if the links lead to a live preview or just a cached version in the browser before you reach out to support for a manual purge.
