Any way to get the taskbar window on Windows to be in dark mode?

Recently migrated to Dropbox, immediately setting preferences to dark mode. Works for the preferences page, sync & storage, webpage, but not the taskbar window? It's like a solar flare.

Is this a glitch or a purposeful thing?

Using a Desktop: amd cpu, nvidia gpu

Windows 11 recent update

Dropbox most recent version 236.4.5918

Not working.

It's worth noting that I'm on the beta channel, v238.3.5842, and the version you're on is in the stable channel, 236.4.5918 from about 3 weeks ago. You can see the layout of the window is different.

Perhaps upgrade to the latest release, or perhaps one from the beta channel and see if the issue persists.

Do you have it set to dark mode, or to follow the system theme, if your system is already on dark mode itself?

Windows is set to dark mode, dropbox is set to dark mode. Curiously I tried setting it to system and that didn't work either.

Rich is right, this is not expected behavior. I's suggest following his advice and making sure you're on the latest version that he shared.

Also make sure you have the below setting enabled:
