Followed steps but didn't get referral space and cannot verify my email address

I was invited to join dropbox via a referral link, i signed up using the link and installed the desktop app on a new computer. I logged into the desktop app but still didnt receive my 500 mbs bonus and neither did my referral receive his bonus since i joined using his invitation link...as per instructions on the forums it is mentioned to verify the email address but I am unable to send the verification code as there is no option on the general account settings for this step on my desktop app, browser app amd mobile app...moreover, after trying to follow steps provided on the dropbox forum, upon clicking the link for send verification code, the page is redirected to my dropbox with a message "something went wrong" and i am unable to verify

Regarding your referral, can you please ask the person who sent you the link, to check this page and see what the status of the referral is?

As for the error you're getting, can you let me know what kind of option you see next to your email address when you go to your account settings here?

Does it say "edit" or "verify"?
