Can you see when someone is accessing a folder through a shared link?

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible by a new member, having received a shared link link to a folder/subfolder, to log-in to DropBox without providing any visible information that the member has logged in and getting access to the shared information.

My preassumption is that this is not possible - you will see a new member being added as a named icon. Is this wrong or right?

Indeed, when you send a shared link to a file, you have access to certain info.

Thanks for the information provided.

It answers my question - that is, the member's avatar becomes visible when a member has logged in via a shared link to view a folder/subfolder

Hannah, thanks for pointing to the viewer info details! I’m on the Plus plan—can I disable viewer info for shared links to keep access anonymous, or is that only available on higher plans? Appreciate any insights!

Hey @AndyFah! Happy to help! Just to make it a bit more specific, though, the viewer info will show up when the recipients open the files in the folders, so the avatars will show within the files.

And hi @yesnobutton! You can of course disable viewer info for individual files or your entire account.

The steps can be found in the article I hyperlinked in my previous reply, but here it is again, for your convenience.
