Hello
We have the Basic Plan, the owner has left and I need to remove them and reassign ownership.
Any advice welcomed!
Hi
You get the person to go to www.dropbox.com/account and change the name and email associated with it - the person who had the account initially needs to do this as they own the account (it may send an email to confirm the changes).
Thanks for getting back to me. however, previous owner has stated that they no longer 'have Dropbox'
Without them doing the above there is no way to change it. If they dont, wont or cant the only alternative you have is to set up a new account.
Dropbox wont change this for you because that account is owned by the person. If a company wants admin rights over things they need to be paying for a Business plan which gives them that privilege.
Thank you Mark
I'm trying to set up a new account this morning, but Dropbox keeps taking me back to the original one!
Hey @BlueDiamond. To create a new Dropbox account, you’ll first need to log out of the account you’re currently signed in. Here’s how you can do this, depending on the Dropbox platform you’re using.
Thank you for jumping onboard - I need to use the same email to create a new account - so Dropbox takes me straight back to the original account.
Any advice welcomed.

Simply put - you cannot. Unless the people who have control of the email give you access to it OR you can change it yourself at www.dropbox.com/account (which is often not possibly on a Teams account) you cannot do this.
Thank you Mark.
