Do I need my files to be available offline to sync to the Dropbox website?

On my PC desktop, I am syncing my Camera Uploads folder in the Dropbox folder so I can sort out last year's pictures to a separate folder. I want it to then sync to the Dropbox site accordingly. It's easier for me to sort on my desktop. Do I need it to be set to sync so it's available offline to accomplish this?

I started syncing it to be available offline by changed it back mid sync to online-only. Will it switch back like this?

Yes, all changes within your Dropbox folder will sync back to Dropbox.com as long as the desktop app is running and syncing on your computer @Cloudsoverkorra

To clarify, have you set the entire “Camera uploads” folder to be online-only? If you check www.dropbox.com, do you see all of your files the same way they’re showing on the desktop app?

Finally, what’s the current syncing status of your Dropbox app?

Hi! The entire camera uploads folder is set to Online-only. The files also reflect the same way on Dropbox.com as it does on my desktop.

The Dropbox app is set to sync new photos only and continuous camera uploads is 'on'. Anytime I take a new picture it uploads to the camera uploads folder on Dropbox.com.

I want this to sync to my desktop so I can sort it and have it sync sorted to Dropbox.com. I am just worried I will mess something up..

Based on everything, it sounds like it all works as it should, so I'm a bit unsure as to what you'd like to achieve here.

You mentioned "Do I need it to be set to sync so it's available offline to accomplish this?". Are you referring to your camera uploads folder, or the new folder you wish to create?

When you say that you want this to sync to your desktop, do you mean a different device? What would you like to achieve on your end?

I guess, can I leave the sync setting on my desktop in the Dropbox folder to 'Online-only' and sort it the way I want so it will sync to dropbox.com that way? Thanks for being patient..
