smart sync doesn't show up in my settings or on my dropdown menus on my new computer. Windows 11.
As a last step: have you tried an advanced re-install using these steps @randy123?

It hasn't been called Smart Sync for a while now. When you right-click on a file or folder in your Dropbox folder, look for Make available offline and Make online-only.
I get none of those options. Make available offline and Make online-only are not options in my sync settings either, but are on my other computer.

What version of Dropbox are you running? Have you tried a reinstall yet? Can you provide a screenshot of the options that you do get?
v.200.4.7134 i have the essentials package which is supposed to be professional +
Yes, i've reinstalled and restarted a bunch of times. Tried deleting everything and restarting. tried reinstalling over itself. tried logging out and in.
This thread also is very similar to mine, but it ends abruptly.

Hey @randy123 - could you clarify if the desktop app is up to date or still syncing in your taskbar?
Also, how long has it been since you first installed the app on this machine? Did you do it with admin privileges?
The dropbox app was installed this morning on my new work computer. I spent most of the day with our IT specialist. He installed it and didn't seem to think the issue was on his side, considering my old computer, installed in the same way, was sitting beside us, working just fine 😞 I only select sync'd a few folders and the dropbox is currently 'up to date'
I hope it's okay for me to jump in, @randy123!
Can you check this page, to make sure that the "Dropbox system extension" setting is set to "on"?
system extension is on.
You haven't recently updated your OS, have you @randy123?
Feel free to also take a look at the steps our Community Manager shared here, and let me know if they help at all.
tried the registry edit. Got an error saying i can't rename.
not sure how this is preventing dropbox from showing the proper sync menu options of make avail online/offline
BTW- My IT tech installed DP with admin privileges. And this is a brand new computer with factory installation of windows.
Just did the advanced reinstall and it looks like it's working. Thx!
That's fantastic @randy123!
