Upload button does not react after clicking on it. Could you help please?
Hi Everybody,
A fix has been implemented. If you're still experiencing an inability to upload, reply here and I'll pass that info on.
Thanks,
Ben
Hey @Annie P, I hope you're doing well!
It sounds like your browser isn't able to process the upload button for some reason. Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?
Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.
Those are the first steps in troubleshooting any possible browser issue.
Let me know of any updates!
Same thing happening to me. Started yesterday. I am using Chrome. I could get around the problem yesterday by leaving the folder and coming back to it and it would let me upload but today that is not working.
Also having this issue; drag and drop uploading is still working fine, and the upload button will work if the page is refreshed.
Chrome browser. Working through the common browser troubleshooting steps now.
Hey guys, thanks for bringing this up!
Let me know if you notice this only when using Chrome, or on a different browser too.
Using the steps I provided above, might also help us isolate the issue.
Thanks a bunch!
Upload button does not work for me or by boss.. tried 3 different browsers and none of them worked. I emailed for help with a ticket and even though they emailed me back none of the suggestions are working. For now I am dragging the items in.
Hi @jh24, sorry to hear about that!
Would you mind sending over the ticket number reference, in order for me to locate it on our system?
Our status page doesn't report some issue, that's why I'm asking.
Ticket # 23528280
Thanks for that @jh24!
I've pinged the agent working on this, and they should reply back as soon as possible.
Hang tight, and thank you for your patience!
Thank you!
Using Firefox, I find now that I am unable to upload files to Dropbox from my laptop - changing the browser to Edge and Chrome doesn't fix it. When I click on Upload/Files, the file browser just doesn't appear. Any clues, anyone?
Hi @ricf, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
Keep me posted!
Hey @ricf - sorry to jump in here, but could you try disabling your antivirus temporarily and/or clearing your browser's cache or try another browser with no extensions or plugins running and let us know how it goes?
If the issue persists, you can also reboot your computer and internet router.
In any case, please keep us posted!
I work in IT and I've noticed this problem come up since yesterday as well, on multiple computers and accounts. I've confirmed this is an issue on my machine as well.
The problem specifically is with pressing the "Upload" button while in a folder. Pressing upload on the root level of the web interface works just fine. Pressing the button does not prompt you with the default windows file explorer window.
I've tried this in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Cleared Cache and Cookies. Had no interfering extensions running. Temporarily disabled antivirus. No restrictive firewall. Had been working earlier this week.
Seems to be an issue on the server side.
Thanks, Jawhitfi - good to know that I'm not the only one. So, a Dropbox bug? The problem now is, if I'm not in the folder where I want to upload to when I click on Upload, the files I want to upload don't go to the right place. My work-around at the moment is to the copy the link that is located next to the Share button into my address bar, and it works fine.
My IT person helped me with the issue i was having, and it will work his way.
I have noticed that that if you hit this button and then go to the folder you want the glitch doesnt happen.
Thank you - yes, this works!
Thanks so much for reporting this. I've reported it to our engineering team, who is working on a fix. We will let you know when we have more information to share.
Thank you Megan for replying. I try to use a different browser like Edge, the file selection window shows 2mins later after clicking on the button.
Hey @Annie P - sorry to jump in here, but does this persists on an incognito window or a browser with no extensions or plugins running as well?
Did you reboot your computer since you first noticed this by the way?If you have any antivirus or firewall running, you can also temporarily disable them.
Keep us posted anyhow!
Looks like you've fixed it - thanks!
