Is there a way to quickly flag photos in preview?

Is there a way to quickly flag photos in a photo preview?

I understand starring and tagging are the two options currently, but both are tedious. Neither action is quickly accessible in the viewer - I have to go into the file menu and for tagging, type in additional text. I can quickly add stars in the mobile app viewer, but I don't see a way to unstar multiple selected files at once, which I would need to do afterward to avoid crowding my "Starred" subfolder. I review hundreds of images at a time and removing 50+ stars individually is incredibly annoying.
