I keep getting the above message. However, my folders have been in place for years. Any idea why I'm getting this and what, if anything, I should do?
Thanks for checking, @Rebecca_Skillman! If you keep receiving similar emails in the future, let us know here, and we can investigate this further.
Hi @Rebecca_Skillman, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you certain that the emails are referring to the same account you're currently using?
Is it possible that it's referring to another Dropbox account under a similar email, or another one entirely if it's a shared inbox?
This will help me to assist further!
Hi Jay, many thanks for yours. I thought the same thing (in fact I recently closed down my Gmail account, opened in error, now just using the Yahoo one). But the emails are addressed to the same address that I use for Dropbox. If I click on "Continue" in the email from Dropbox I arrive on a page that shows "Home" and the the "All files" tab indicated. No files show. I have to click on "All files" for the folders to appear.
How often are you receiving these emails?
In fact, now I look back I only had that particular email once. Previously, I had, "We noticed you're not taking advantage of your Dropbox account." So I have the feeling of being slightly hassled - perhaps it's only marketing.
I came across this discussion when searching about this problem, which is still ongoing. I have been receiving one to three e-mails per month from Dropbox relating to setting up, some of them with the same subject as in the title of this discussion. And, similar to Rebecca's experience, I have been using Dropbox since June 2018 on my current PC and I only ever use the Dropbox Windows app, yet I still get these e-mails. Why is this? I only ever had one Dropbox account. For me, the problem started in January 2021, with the "Setup required" messages starting in January this year.
