MacBook Air 2023 , can't installed dropbox desktop app, can't complete setting
The screenshots you posted earlier indicated that you are at the maximum of 3 devices for your Dropbox Basic account, so you can't add this computer.
You'll need to access this page and remove devices until only 2 remain, so that you can add the computer to your account.
Hey @yanfei wu, thanks for letting us know about this.
Can you give us some more info on why you can't install our desktop app?
Are you getting some kind of error message? If so, please send us a screenshot, so we can look into it.
Any additional info would be really helpful.
Thanks!
cant complete this
Hi @yanfei wu,
I'd like to jump in here if you don't mind.
I see that you get a blank screen when trying to set up the app on a new device. That usually indicates some kind of software such as VPN or security suites are blocking connections with Dropbox.
If you have anything like that, you might want to try turning them off temporarily, and use the “offline installer” instead.
Hope that turns out OK!
Hi it is not working, I turn off clearnmymac and there is nothing else blocking anything, it stay the setting (loading) screen, no idea how to solve this issue
Do you have any proxy, firewall, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
From which location are you trying to install the Dropbox desktop application?
No, I do not have it, no idea why I cant install it properly.Does the dropbox team offer remote support for solving this issue?
Just to confirm, do you see the same thing, when installing through the offline installer as well, @yanfei wu?
Step 1 install dropbox app (completed)Step 2 login in with Email (completed)
Step 3 Cancel to set up (completed)
Step 4 Setting up dropbox (cant complete)
See attached pics
Thanks for these really helpful screenshots, @yanfei wu!
Can you let us know your computer's OS version, please?
Also, can you ensure the host attempting to view Dropbox is configured for 32 bit color?
And is it possible that you're logging in through a remote session or a virtual machine?
Hi
