Can someone please explain to me how to send an album from your iphone photos to dropbox?

Can you please clarify if you have the Dropbox mobile app installed on your iPhone or if you're using the website?
In either case, you should be able to upload any files from your iPhone via the relevant buttons, be it the 'upload' button on the website or the (+) button in the mobile app.

Just to add to what has been said - you cannot send an album to Dropbox, you can send individual files over, however.
