Why was my account disabled?

Company account with email (like email Dropbox of me) has been disabled from Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Dropbox hasn't emailed notification?

This account is used for business.

Please help me!

As we won't be able to help much with account specific inquiries through this platform, I'd suggest using an incognito window while NOT logged into any Dropbox account to contact our support team through this form so we can look further into this.

Hi @Justin Muschette, could you contact the support team by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link.

Make sure to enter the same email for the account you're experiencing issues with, and then let me know the ticket ID from the automated response you receive.

My account since yesterday is disabled and there is not reason why I am use this plataforma every day.. please urgent help

I came to log back to my dropbox after 3 hours and it says disabled after i tried to login with my correct pass word. Account is paid and upto date. I need my files but i cannot access any and i filed a tech support but it says will get back to you since yesterday.

I am confused. Could i have been hacked

Your account has not been hacked - your account has been disabled (aka closed) by Dropbox due to a breach of the terms and conditions.

Why was my account disabled?

My account was disabled but I'm not aware of why. I have two different tickets already open. It's been about 2 weeks since i saw that my account was disabled. I'm wondering if someone hacked my account changed my email and disabled it i have no idea. I'm truly hoping this can be resolved so I can have access to my files again.

Every few days my account gets blocked and i have to get support to solve this, at first they said that i had a corrupted file, so i had to delete it, but at the next day after my account was operative againt, it got blocked. I'm a teacher and i share a lot of content to my students, and its a great problem and a huge waste of time if every time i want to shere something, i have to contact support.

Hi @ELGENERALTORRES, could you clarify exactly what you're experiencing on your account?

Are you not able to login to the account, or are your shared links no longer working?

@Dmg89, according to the ticket ID, I can see that there is a response from the support agent. You should've received their response direct to your email.

Could you check your inbox or spam/junk folder in case it was sent there?

dear all without any reason and without any error message I cannot access my dropbox anymore. I am using client on ubuntu linux, and I have been actively using it so it has not expired for sure. I cannot recover my password neither since I have this error message like in title. Anyone can help?

Could you try from another browser as it's crucial to our troubleshooting process?

No one here can help you with this. You'll need to wait for a response from Dropbox Support. If you reply with your ticket number a Dropboxer might be able to pass it on to the Support team, but you'll still need to await their response.

Why won’t Dropbox contact me about my disabled account? Just needs to be reset. 4 days now, wth?

Hey guys -- this is happening to my team as well. We upgraded to Professional a little over a month ago (team of three), and now myself and the owner of the account aren't under the Professional subscription anymore. The owner tried logging and it says his account doesn't exist. The third person on our team still has access to the drive. I have access to the drive, but can't make any edits because it says my storage is full and moved me to a Basic subscription. Please advise! Thank you! 🙂

I'm posting this on behalf of my brother who has been using Dropbox for a very long time now. He got billed the other day and then his account suddenly got disabled immediately. This was about a week ago and he is unable to get in contact with anyone for the account. He has no idea why it got disabled suddenly and immediately after he paid. He uses this service for his work, all of which is located in his Dropbox. How can he go about resolving this?

When he logs in, it says 'Account Disabled'

It's definitely not due to inactivity because he has been actively using it for a VERY long time.

my account was deactivated. i have a law firm and i need access to file pleadings other wise i will be in trouble with the court. ive had this issue expedited three times and each time nothing happens. i dont know what to do. its absolutely necessary i filed these pleadings. all i hear is expedited and too bad too sad. i offered to pay to ransom my files back. one rep said i can pay for business advanced for like $720.00 get phone access and they will resolve it. another rep said that wont work. what do you do when there is an emergency?

Deactivated means that your account has been closed for breaching terms and conditions - that also means, I'm afraid, it wont be reopened.

In terms of your files I'm afraid you will need to access the backups you have of them as its 99% certain they wont be recoverable via Dropbox.

im not abble to login to have acces to the privileges of 1 day response through email that comes with my paid subscription

A response to her request would be much appreciated as we cannot access client folders and are in limbo until this is resolved.

Unfortunately disabled accounts mean that you have been terminated for breach of terms and conditions. Therefore it is very very very unlikley the account will be restored. By the fact tickets are not being replied to I'd say that it wont be.

Hey, so i was using my account normally one day and the next day it says i forgot my password so i try to reset it and then it says my account is "disabled" and i cant do anything, i lost all my information. I submitted a ticket but they havent responed (and im dropbox plus lol). I lost all my information, they didnt even give me time or any warning so i can save my information. I need help ASAP, i need that information.

Please contact Dropbox support team or send a feedback or bug by the app. The team will help you recover the data. If you are on a plus policy, there is a 30 days of recovering deleted data, even in the recycle bin. So, contact the Dropbox and don't worry.

I already submitted a ticket few days ago and i contacted them on twitter.... no response yet, i know maybe im supposed to wait more days but i need the information in my dropbox, im so confused as in why they dont give you a warning.
