As a first step, could you please let me know what the Dropbox icon that’s next to your computer’s clock shows when you click on it? Is it still syncing or up to date?

Could you also confirm if you’ve tried the following steps:

Click on the Dropbox icon from your Desktop and quit the app.
Open your Activity Monitor from your Mac Utilities folder.
Force quit out of the instances of the desktop app that are running by searching for "Dropbox" in the search bar, then clicking on the "x" force quit icon on the top left.
Re-start Dropbox from the applications folder by double clicking on the Dropbox app.
Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen.
Click on "force quit".
Relaunch the finder.

Let me know how it goes!

Just did all of those steps, and still nothing. (no green checkmarks next to files and still cant right click to copy link.)

I am experiencing the same issue. Haven't been able to use right-click on Dropbox from Finder since the latest Mac update.

Hey @SassyLang, sorry to hear about this.

Could you please let us know the exact OS of your computer and the status and version of the desktop app as shown in your menu bar at the moment?

If possible, send us a screenshot of the options you get when you right click on files in your Dropbox folder on your computer too.

This will help us assist further.

Can you also send me a screenshot of how the file looks like in your Dropbox folder @SassyLang?

I'd like to check its syncing icon, if possible.

I've sent you how it appears in Finder (which is on Dropbox) and no green ticks anywhere. Here it is again zoomed in but I've blurred file names for privacy.

Could you please let me know the desktop app's version too? For example, our latest, stable version is 150.4.5000 - which version are you running on the affected device?

While we're at it, note that you can check if a third-party application is causing this issue with the following steps:

1. Save any files and quit ALL programs.

2. Completely quit and close any third-party cloud service applications, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or others.

3. Quit Dropbox:

- Click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen

- Click on your profile picture or initials to the right of the search bar and select 'Quit Dropbox'

4. Relaunch “Finder” using the following steps:

- Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen

- Click on "force quit"

- Select “Finder,” then click "Relaunch"

5. Restart the Dropbox application.

If the issue is resolved at this point, it may be due to the third-party applications running on the computer. If the issue persists, or you see that a new application is causing issues, please let us know.

As for reboot - I did all of this before thinking that it was the latest Mac update that caused this so i needed to flush out any bugs. But to no avail. And it literally stopped the green tick/blue pending stuff from when the last upgrade happened. Not the big upgrade, but the last update (about 4 days ago) that was to "fix" the issue with Mail no longer being able to open documents or files if the program was already running. I'm therefore 99.9999% sure this is a Mac software update that is causing this issue because it's a very rare thing for something like this to happen independently of an upgrade.... Over to you Dropbox. Hopefully you can find a fix soon. Thank you!

Ah, sorry - my bad! You had indeed provided the app's version in your previous reply.

It seems that you're using a beta version of the app. Can you see if you get any different results when using our latest stable version from this page?

Note that you may need to disable the 'early releases' from your account's settings online first.
