Trouble with setting time zone

My time zone is not showing correctly. If I load a file it registers as having it done it 11 hours in the past? Any help would be appreciated so I can accurately track activity in my files.

I should have mentioned I have tried to adjust my time settings on several occasions. The timezone appears to be correct but the actual times displayed against each file are not representative of the times I have saved them.

That means something on the device itself is logging the wrong time on to the files, so, the phone may have a setting set on it which logs at a different time zone to what you are in (e.g. Apple's own 'use local setting' etc.).

I cannot change the time zone in the settings of my Dropbox account. It is stuck as GMT-05:00 Eastern?

And you've changed the Automatic time zone switch from On to Off?

I don't know how this will work over time, but by changing my time zone to the country of Mauritania I'm getting times within about 5 minutes of actual East Coast U.S. time.

Changing my time zone to East Coast U.S. was encouraging at first, but didn't work.

sorry for digging this out again. Toggling between ON and OFF does not work for me. Had huge problems either because using a VPN with another time zone server or it was related to the time change in Europe last weekend. Can't figure that out anymore as I did all in that same night. I like to deactivate this automatic setting but I can't.
