Dropbox app fails to connect ("Waiting to connect") and repeatedly prompts to sign out of devices

I installed (and uninstalled, reinstalled—multiple times) and it keeps asking me to do two things:

1. Sign out of my own device, which is somehow listed multiple times (I have basic plan)
2. When installed, it says it can't connect to dropbox, and the error leads me to security settings (which I've checked over and over) and time/date settings.

In the end, I can't get Dropbox to connect because it constantly says "waiting to connect" until the error pops up and then the service completely shuts down.

Any help is appreciated.

Let's start by checking your system date and time settings, as incorrect configuration is a common cause of connection failures. On your Windows device go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time, and turn on Set time automatically.

Additionally, try temporarily disabling any active VPNs, third-party firewalls, or strict antivirus software to ensure they aren't blocking your Dropbox network connection.

Since you mentioned using the Basic plan, it's also worth checking your device count. The Basic plan has a limit of 3 devices. Could you check your security page and let me know how many devices are currently listed there?

If none of that works, I'd personally try an advanced reinstall.
