Dropbox keeps saying I'm over the storage limit, even though there are a few small files left

Hi, hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction.

I'm on Dropbox Basic (4.75 GB limit including referral bonuses). I recently cancelled a paid plan and deleted files to get back under the limit, but around 60+ GB that landed in Deleted files pushed me back over the threshold. I then permanently deleted everything from Deleted files as well.

My account is still showing "Over storage limit - Using 65.1 GB of 4.75 GB" and I'm still getting the "some of your files will be deleted in 42 days" warning, even though:

- All files: only 3 items, totalling under 3 MB
- Deleted files: 0 items shown (last 30 days filter)
- Photos: empty
- Shared: one small Paper doc
- Only one device linked to the account

So there is nothing left for me to delete, but the usage counter still shows 65.1 GB used. I saw another thread here about deleted Dropbox Backups still counting against quota after deletion - could something similar be happening on my account (an old computer backup that was removed but is still being counted)?

Is there any way to get my storage usage manually recalculated, since Dropbox Basic doesn't seem to have a live support/ticket option to raise this directly? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for posting on the forum today, @adatoo! Let’s have a look.

First off, I’d like to mention that deleted files don’t count against your storage space. So, even if you saw some files in your Deleted files page, they should have no effect on your current usage. As a result, permanently deleting them wouldn’t make any difference.

Now, regarding what you said about a backup taking up your Dropbox space, this could be true indeed. 

To verify that, I’d like you to go here, and send me a screenshot of what you see on your Backups page.
