The right-click menu keeps disappearing on Windows 11

I know this right-click menu has been an issue recently, but my thing seems a little different.

First: I am running Windows 11 pro with Dropbox 269.4.4231

My issue issue is that the right click menu keeps disappearing.

I saw on a previous thread a direction to install the latest stable version of dropbox, which I did, and the menu reappeared and worked perfectly.

Then, about half an hour later, I went back to use it again and it was gone.

I have checked the registry and DropboxExt01 through 10 are top 10 entries under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers\

I tried running the installer again and the exact same thing happened: The menu returned for once. Then was not there when I went to use it again. My computer had not gone into sleep mode, I had not restarted. I just had not accessed windows explorer.

I have tried restarting windows explorer from the task bar and also restarting the Dropbox application.

I am trying to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling the application as I have A LOT of files synced and it would take a long time. And, I am not convinced that would fix the issue.

I have attached a screenshot of what I see when I right click.

I have a paid account. I went back & forth with Dropbox CS and their answer ended up being (after many technical tries): "we'll let you know when we have a solution"!

I use windows 10 on 1 desktop, and windows11 on a laptop. Both don't work.

I have no Right-click options. I can't decide what folders are in the cloud and which are available off line on my computer. My default setting is to keep everything in the cloud but I need folders that I work with ongoing available on my computer. I have the option to "download" but then it opens an new destination and I don't know if it will double it up since I use a few devices. Any advice, or should I look for a new cloud base storage? this has been going on for over a month and I need a solution asap. Thank you

Until they figure this out, is there a way from the online site to make folders available offline? The only option I see is to download the folder. If I do that it: 1) doubles that folder 2)anything I add to that folder syncs to cloud only so that doesn't help!

Spent 3 hours with Dropbox AI help we looked at everything! Everything in registry is correct. Everything is correct when comparing to laptop registry (where all the dropbox options are visible on the right click menu as they should be). Installing a new version also didn't fix the issue. The issue is not tied into profiles either, all are the same. However a single dropbox menu option, is visible when clicking on files/folders outside dropbox: 'Transfer a Copy…' Also I know people have said the number of items are a limiting factor; on the right menu the number of items changes depending on the file suffixes etc. However it is longer than the right context menu on laptop which has 20 options rising to 28 for example when right clicking on a .jpg. But still no dropbox options.. So out of ideas… Anything else to try?

Hey @joplov - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please clarify your computer's OS version and the version/status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your system tray/taskbar?

Also, do you happen to have any 3rd party software running on your computer that might be monitoring, syncing or backing up your files for example?

If you could send us a screenshot of the options you get when you right-click on your files in the Dropbox folder, I'd appreciate it.
