our Updraft folder is Greyed out
we cannot seem to access this folder
Help, it contains website backups
Hi @AlanAtaxia, thanks for messaging the Community!
Are you seeing this icon grayed out on the Dropbox site itself, or in your Dropbox folder on your machine (if the Dropbox desktop application is installed and running)?
Whatever details you can provide, even if they seem small, will help us get to the bottom of this together.
on my pc, via the Dropbox site
Thanks for the image. I also use Updraft for backing up my personal site, so I'm aware of how it works a little.
On my Dropbox account, the Apps folder is normal when you view it in the main window of the Dropbox site, or the right, and not in the navigation pane on the left.
Are you able to navigate to that page? For the Apps folder, if you're not in a Dropbox team, then the URL should work using this link, which is the same one for my Apps folder.
thanks, although that link says that the app/folder cant be found ? #BIZZARE
Just for clarification, is this for the Updraft folder, or the actual Apps folder?
Are you able to access any other folders in the Apps directory?
yes, for UpDraft
All other folders are fine
Is the Updraft service still connected to your Dropbox account according to this page?
thhanks now theres a thought,
I will check in a moment/later
seems conected, but will login to updraft to check.
thank you for your wisdom
Thanks for the update, @AlanAtaxia.
Let us know if that helps or if you're still having the same issue afterwards.
Sadly, still not working
did see a dropbox error 401 flash up and it was backing up via Updraft
Error 401 usually means that the login credentials are incorrect.
Could you try disconnecting Updraft from the connected apps page, and then see if you can access the Updraft folders?
Afterwards, regardless if you can access them or not, try reconnecting Updraft from your website settings back to your Dropbox account again to re-establish the link.
thank you
will try that, although will that delete an backups we already have
No, it shouldn't delete the backups, since you're only disconnecting it from Updraft.
If possible, are you able to click the ellipsis next to the Updraft folders to copy them elsewhere in your Dropbox account to back them up there?
clicked DISSCONECT and now there is NO reference to updraft !
Is it possible that it was disconnected in some other way before doing this step?
Can you check the events page to see if you're able to see the Updraft folders there?
Updraft support noticed the token to link to Dropbox needed to be re-freshed.
its a pity they dont warn/alert you it needs doing occaasionally.
Thank you for your input
Thanks for the update on this matter. This isn't something that I experienced with my own personal account in Updraft, so I wasn't aware of this.
Were you able to access the previous website backups from the Apps folder?
