Certain folders in my Dropbox folder are showing as package files on macOS 15.7.4

Question

Suddenly on my mac (running 15.7.4) and dropbox 264.4.3421, several folders are showing as packages in finder. I can access the contents by right clicking and "show package contents", but that's a clumsy workaround to do often.

All of my files are set to offline accessible and it's showing no sync issues.

I've only seen this impacting about 5 out of a few hundred folders, but I can't tell why these in particular are being effected. You can see two in the screenshot below.

Hi Hannah!

There does not seem to be any consistency to the files in the folders that are showing up as packages vs. not. Many contain other folders, some contain predominately PDFs, others office documents or images.

I will try force quitting and relaunching. I did try a full reboot.

As of this morning I verified that my work computer (same OS) is not showing packages for these files, so it's not specific to the OS version.

What types of files do the folders in question contain? Are they different to the ones in the folders that do not appear as package files?

If you force-quit Finder and also quit the Dropbox app and then relaunch both of them, does that make any difference?
