QR code has been deactivated for one of my Dropbox files; how can I obtain a fresh one?
Thanks in advance for any help you can render!
Regards,
David
Thank you SO much, Nancy, for your rapid and lucid reply!
Now I understand why my QR code no longer works; the link you helpfully provided shows that the feature has been removed by Dropbox.
It's curious to me that Sam's email was posted 2/2/2024, since I'm quite sure I obtained the QR code sometime in 2025. Oh, well, I accept—of course—Dropbox's decision to remove the feature, and will cross out the QR code on business cards I've printed.
Again, thanks, Nancy, for your informative and timely response! Hope I can figure out how to give you a thumbs-up!
Hi @DHoesly! Thanks for your post. Are you perhaps referring to this feature? If yes, I’m afraid that it’s been deprecated. If not, do you remember how you had initially created/obtained the QR code in question? You can also copy and paste a screenshot of what you're seeing at the moment. I’ll be able to further help you this way.
So happy to have helped you, David! Thanks for your kind words. If you want, you can leave a thumbs-up by clicking on this little button below my reply.
Feel free to give me a nudge, if you need something else!
@DHoesly Good news, sharing Dropbox files and folders via a QR code is still available!
If you click the Share button for your content, it will open our sharing flow that looks like this:
In the upper right hand corner there is a More menu that opens More ways to Share. From there, you can select Create QR Code. Then you will have the option to Save the QR code to put in your business cards or anywhere else you choose.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
